Flight 001
Cool bag shops. We have been to ones in SF and LA.
Jack Spade bags are cool but a bit expensive.

Chinese Theater Hollywood. Did not know it resides near dodgey area. Fun to realize famous people hands and legs are not as big as you thought.

Chele's at Pismo. Good service by over tanned waitress. Food wise so so. The store across had a long que so we went here.

I like John Cusack and he was on a bit of tacky side on this one.
You kind a knew they gonna meet in the end but a pure sincere film. 7 bucks.

Eames house which they lived for over 30 some years. Nice and cozy, but kind a dump though. Huge Eucalyptus trees.

Salk Institute at La Jolla. Amazing. The open center yard and its view from it is the key. They say it is a biological research center. I found some surf boards stored at the base. Cool.

Buca di beppo. Fun and good atomosphered Italian. Pizza is not so but pasta is alright. I bet they are using Barilla.

Legoland in SoCal. OK but rides are soso. The Lego town is superb. Usually $40-50 per person. Where the monely goes? To Sweden??

Sycamore Hot Spring. 硫黄の温泉。でもヌルい、sucked.

Recommended by some blog site but it was too clever for me.
I dig he done it all by himslef and bet it was a low budgeted but does not show it too much.
Plus he controlled title and music designs cool. $1.

Kind a cheesy to me especially the Neeson and Firth. Firth, does he do more than low IQed brit lover? On the contrast, Bill Nighy who played old and tired Rock'n Roller and Emma and Alan who played older sis of PM Hugh were good. What was that with porn couple? $3. shit long movie.

いまのところNever Again.

Office Space.

Low budget movie or it seems but some decent actors in it. I kind a liked it, especially the VP who drives a blue Porsche. Some funky soundtrack. Would I see it again... Nope.
Loon Wah, Cupertino

All day dim-sum. and we went there for dinner. May be wrong time to go but sucked.
$30 for four.

Anger Management (2003)

Fun, especially at the end.

Simple, inexpensive, served well and good taste. Although fries were not so tasty, would go again.

Sunday, December 11, 2005

Sushi maru Sunnyvale.
Well a hair better than Miyuki.
Good Uni but for 5 buck. May be again.

うまいほうかな、アメリカにしては。Rround Table Pizzaよりうまいという感じね。Would go there again.

The swimming was good. Not crowded so I had a lane to myself first time in as long as I can remember ! However, the pool tasted pretty salty meaning there is a lot of chloline in. The pool is heated to 80 degree so 26.6 celcius. Outside is much cooler, so its kind a nice to hit a cool air after long swim when your body is warm.

Aeon Flux. Good gadgeted Sci-Fi, especially the silver friendly balls.

In front of the SJ City hall there is Pho Lan and it is 2nd time we have been.
The noodle is stuck in the soup but other than that, it is an ordinally good Pho.

New City Hall in SJ. Very nice. The area surrounding are still under-development thus big open spaces.

Near our house there is a shop called Ogisan Ramen and we tried. Turned out that it is run by Taiwanese owner (who might have lived in Japan)
Although the Ramen was a bit better than expected, Sayonara.

Then on to Napa for the first time and vineyard after vineyard.
Some winery have a great tasting office and collections. Wine is that good turn over? I wonder.

Artesa winery had a bit nice architecture but the view from there was better.

Next we want to visit the Dominus by H&dM but it is not open to public.... yet.

From the Civic Center took about 40 min to Sonoma and ate at Maya Mexican restaurant. It has nice service and good healthy kind but still the buzz was not there. I am skipping here next.

Sonoma self is nice little cozy down town. But why so many hotels and they all looked old but turns out that there were built not too long ago, say like 6 years ago.
Marine County Civic Center. Designed by Frank Llyod Wright. It was a beauty. He designed all the street lamps and signs etc. as well as usual.

Some shot of Gattaca (where the rocket goes up) was shot here or so I hear.
Many Sheriff cars parking and realized county Jail was right next to it.

Very warm day for December and drove up for the first time in more than 15 years to see the bridge. It was a beautiful as ever. Many people riding bicycle around and thought it was nice.

In Mountain View. They are big chain and taste was soso.
Pho Queen is much better. 7 bucks for Pho and drink.

Flight 001
525 Hayes Street
San Francisco, CA 94102

A cool bag store where we found a cool small vertical bag with superb color scheme.
It is done by Jack Spade and called Green Street series or something like that. $80, whew.

Crab House at Pier 39. Although it is on a heavy tourist spot, the food was good and price was OK. We had half Killer Crab and Crab Ceaser plus some drink and chowder for $60. We could have ordered a full crab but half full stomach is the trend among us now days. The killer crab source is garlic, butter and crab MISO. Yummy. My dad would love there.

Would go there again.

Saturday, November 26, 2005

Gaesung House of Tofu
2089 El Camino Real
Santa Clara, CA 95050

Good atmosphere and service but taste and cost wise Tofu House is better.

Monday, November 21, 2005

Big Basin Rewood Park.
Nice and Big Trees.

Savannah Chanelle Vineyards
On Bag Basin Road.
Did not do tasting since $5 and we were gonna drive more but it had a great view from nice vineyard. Also for the 1st time, I tasted the Grape off the vineyard and somehow I expected not sweet but they were.

Discovery museum San Jose
$7 each and it had a amazing water playing site. Other site are OK too but I wonder how often it gets upgraded. Depending on exhibit renewal, I would go there again.

BTW, it is located on WOZ way which named after S.Wozniak from Apple whom donated a lot or so I hear.

Super Bowl Vietnamese restaurant at Cupertino Village on Wolf.
It has been while since we had Vietnamese pancake. The last time we had was at NE of London. This place has it and tasted good. Big and clean interior and local waiters are plus.

Had a fish pancake which is DIY fresh spring roll and fun.

Would go there again.

Good and affordable. Would go there again.
$40 for four.

Dynasty Seafood Restaurant
10123 Wolfe Road Cupertino, CA.

Dim Sum at Mayflower Milpitas. It is good and no so expensive. Too long que on weekend.

Miyake in Cupertino is inexpensive Sushi go around on boat.
Boats swim kind a fast but kids loved it. $35 for four with no alcohol.

Might go again since it is so close from where we live.

Tomisushi in San Jose.
Taste OK. Not so good Japanese waitress. Would I go again? Maybe.
Mari liked it. $55 for family with small sake.

Passage to India on 1991 W. El Camino Real, Mt. View is good.

Pho Queen on 101 and Lawrence is good. Fresh Veg. and good and hard noodle.

Wednesday, October 05, 2005

Lan's Noodle House

Pho house. Really good Pho's but fresh spring roll sucks, since it is pre-made.
225 E. Santa Clara Street
San Jose, CA 408-298-5168
