from web: for giuliano fujiwara’s a/w 2011 women’s collection creative director masataka matsumura reinterprets traditional japanese aesthetics, and crafts styles with a fabulously understated modern looks. it’s all about diagonal an asymmetric cut lines, folds and the layering of two contrasting fabrics. the garments are largely flat-fronted with exaggerated blown-out volumes on the back and a high waist, all together echoing the characteristics of the traditional women’s kimono. the collection comes with a range of shoes, bags, purses, bracelets, head and eyewear.
