VW beetle discontinued after 80years

In 2017 VW sold 15,000 Beetle out of 339,700 VW cars in the US.  More astonishing was back n 1968, Beetle alone sold 423,008 cars in the US.  That's almost 100k more than 2017 total VW sales figure in the US.
